STAYING SAFE WITH CLC
Ensuring the safety of our young people is an integral part
of the City’s ground breaking strategy.
We have developed a number of ground-breaking projects designed
to improve safety through learning.
From life-skills to awareness building, the projects offer our
young people a host of new experiences centred on safeguarding
individuals and the wider community.
Ultimately our aim is to keep all our young people safe by
providing them with a safe learning environment, identifying
risk and responding effectively as and when required.
Your Choice Conference
One of our most successful projects, the Your Choice Conferences
have been made possible thanks to the continued support of our
partner Merseytravel.
The events, which run several times throughout the year, explore
anti-social behaviour – in all its guises, along with its
consequences on society.
With particular emphasis on rail, transport and road safety,
students are asked to examine the fall-out from negative
behaviours such as hoax calls, damage to public property and
vandalism.
Aimed at students between the ages of 10 and 12, the conferences
are totally interactive, with workshops incorporating elements
of drama, rap, quizzes and music.
Key messages such as respect and responsibility are delivered,
whilst maintaining a fun, rewarding atmosphere throughout the
event.
